Sometimes finding happiness can feel like a challenge, but in the same way that exercising our bodies makes us physically stronger, exercising our minds to seek happiness, especially in the face of adversity, strengthens our ability to find it more quickly and without having to consciously think about it. My commitment to finding happiness every day for a year is essentially an exercise in training my mind to think about what I feel is truly important in life. And that is to Be Happy.
So much in life comes and goes. Nothing is certain or set in stone. But our ability to choose how we think and feel always remains. So I say, "Choose Happiness!"
Now... What you've been waiting for.
The results of the drawing...
Pretty red paper for the names...
Kitty helping... nice kitty... don't eat the names!
And the winner is...
Michael!!! Congratulations!!!
These and a few small other things will be on there way to you soon! (The little frogs are not part of the package however....they are merely left over from Midsummer) :-)
A HUGE THANK YOU again to all who participated and, most importantly, have supported me on this journey. It makes me very happy to know that you get a little bit of joy out of reading my chronicles...
Have a great day and stay tuned for the next drawing when I have reached the end of the third quarter around the beginning of October.
And remember...
Be Happy!
Day 183 is now even happier yet....heheeeee! Yes!!! I think this is the first time in my life that I've won anything!!!! And how fortunate am I, as I need some stuff! As we were driving back from Illinois, Tanna and I were talking about what we might have left behind. A short time later, my mom calls laughing and says look at your phone. It was a picture of my dad sitting at the kitchen table with my hiking hat on, sandwich in hand on way to mouth and a cold bottle of Unibroue Maudite...fine Canadian beer that we drove 45 minutes for since there is nothing but Miller Lite and the sort around their little town..and that's even 12 miles away! :) Yep, our sandwiches for the trip, my hat, and my hard earned beer (which I intended to leave for my dad) were left behind....forget the beer as leaving the other items turned out to be serious enough. The picture of my Dad is too funny though...will post when I see where to upload images here. Anyway, thanks so much Grace Ann...and so sorry to all others who missed out but know that the happy package is greatly appreciated and made my day!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I am really impressed that your mom can send you photo messages!!! Pretty cool! Yes, be sure to send a photo of your dad with all of your left-behind-goodies.
ReplyDeleteWell, I am really happy that this Happy Package will be coming at a good time for you. :-D Presents always brighten the day! Maybe you'll send me a photo with you and the Happy Package contents once you receive it? I would love to post an "after" photo with the winner and his bounty!
Thank you again for taking the time to read my blog! Hope you have a Happy week!
Happy Package arrived! Thank you so much Grace Ann for the wonderful package of gifts and treats...so beautifully wrapped too! If anyone should need another reason to be happy, here it is. Being happy is absolutely contagious! This morning the kids were a bit sad...not normal as they are happy most all of the time. A couple of weeks ago we left my parents up north after vacation. Soon after, they headed down to our house in Texas to visit over the 4th of July holiday... and they’ve been here since. They left this morning and the kids seemed a bit down.
ReplyDeleteTanna picked me up for lunch today with Erik and Ella and when I got in the car I noticed that Tanna had placed the Happy Package on the seat. Ella in the back began giggling with excitement and says, “Dad, you got a present...will you share it with us?” I said of course and she screamed “Yeahhhh...let’s open it up and see what’s inside!” We found several wonderful gift items but what the kids liked the best is the awesome candy....and for Ella, the wind up kitty. :) Erik decided he was not going to let the neat little colander go....but like his dad I guess he’s a big fan of tools of all kinds. Pictures will sum it up much better will share via FB on your wall or should I email? Arriving a few hours after visiting family had to leave town, the happy package provided a huge happy boost at a perfect time...thank you so much again!
I am so happy to hear that it arrived safely AND that they whole family loved it! I will be sharing your photos and comment on my post today. Thank you again for your support. I am so happy to know that it has a positive affect on other people besides myself. :-)
